I'm interested to know if any Yelpers are going to Coachella, and which performer you are most stoked to see. Hung out with a friend last night who is making the pilgrimage to check out Madonna & Tool. Interesting combo, huh? While I am thrilled to experience most of the headliners, I am curious about a lot of the smaller acts like Seu Jorge & Eagles of Death Metal. Another questionable combo, I know.

Seu Jorge is an absolute kick in the pants. Especially since he's best known for doing his own interpretation of David Bowie's 'Rebel Rebel'... first heard in the Bill Murray 'Aquatic Life' flick. Have a great time!

not going this year. coachella is always a heartbreaker for me. the lineup gets me all aflutter and then the schedule dashes my hopes against the rocks. everyone has different musical tastes but since you asked:
deerhoof - awesome. mellifluous cacophony of the highest order.
wolfmother - much buzz. much rock. much enjoyed.
common - keep they heads ringing.
tosca - electrosleaze. makes me want to have sex with the nearest 808.
animal collective - i hear lots of great things about this group. never heard them myself. it smacks of something that might require mushrooms.
yeah yeah yeahs - put on a good show. though when i saw them open for jsbx they paled by comparison.
gnarls barkely - shiver me timbers, another stealth project that twists my cap back.
seu jorge - magico!
dungen - decent, but they almost put me to sleep when i saw them a few months back. they are charming in that don't-speak-great-english- but-are-very-sincere way.
mates of state - stage chemistry is palpable and the music kicks*.
hmm, why am i not going? oh yeah, the heartbreak. :(
*send me a note if you'd like to "evaluate" their new album.
